From the world of Goz Tales, where Winkerton Wolf roams and the M&T Detective Agency swears they “mostly” solve cases.
A new kind of hustle is brewing in Gosling, and this time it is not about missing pastries or wolves with questionable work habits. Oinkonomics is the latest tabletop title from the Goz Tales universe, a chaotic landlord game under the Three Little Pigg Brothers, where strategy meets sabotage and no Pigg climbs the ladder without breaking a few things on the way up. Think Monopoly and Machi Koro if they had a delightfully sinister piglet of a baby.
Now in final development and playtesting, Oinkonomics puts players in the hooves of ambitious oinkers racing to rise from simple Straw Shacks to refined Brick Flats. Everyone has the same dream, but the path is littered with unreliable tenants, shady permits, plumbing problems, and wolves who inspect your property a little too eagerly.
The heart of the game blends quick turns, sharp choices, and gleeful take-that moments (glee for taking that dough, just to clarify). Building your own little empire is satisfying, but watching your rival’s crash spectacularly is even better. One turn you are collecting steady rent, and the next a pig in a bucket hat skims your income or a roaming rooster decides cards matter more than paying what he owes.
Despite the chaos, Oinkonomics has real depth. Expanding fast draws attention. Hoarding cash invites thieves to pillage your pockets for rent. Tenants offer special abilities and bonuses but can vanish in an instant with an eviction card. Hoarde money to ensure you survive the rent storm. Every round forces players to balance bold plays with the risk of disaster, creating the dramatic table moments that define the Goz Tales experience.
Fans of Winkerton Wolf or M&T’s Private Detection and Bakery will slip right in. The humor, characters, and colorful charm of Gosling flow directly into this new turf war, complete with familiar faces and plenty of questionable behavior.
Oinkonomics is not on shelves yet, but it is close. With rules being refined and playtest tables filled with laughter, groans, and loud accusations, the final version is shaping up to be dangerously fun.
Stay tuned for updates, and maybe start saving up. Rent in Gosling has never been cheap, but the drama makes it so worth it.
